Top 3 Red Lipsticks for the Holidays

Hi guys, gals, and non-binary pals!

One week to go until Christmas! I can’t believe it! I’m so excited because it means that once Christmas is over, the crowds will start to disappear and we’ll just have regular foot traffic at work and I can relax. I almost wasn’t going to post this week at all because I’m working so much but I’ve found a way. For this lipstick post, I’ve only included traditional, bullet lipsticks because I find liquid lipsticks messy and awful to wear when you know you’re going to be eating. Reds are already dangerous around food but at least bullet lipsticks are manageable. So, without further ado, here is my top 3 lipsticks that you should consider wearing this holiday season!

Easter Week: MOTD

Hey guys!
Today I wanted to share a little look that I did inspired by Easter! It reminds me a lot of how I used to do my makeup and it felt a bit like a blast from the past wearing it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted to wear pastels and bright colours because nothing screams Easter quite like that. It is autumn in Australia so the colours are a bit off trend at the moment but makeup is makeup and you can wear it whenever, there are no rules. Now that I’ve sufficiently gone on a tangent, let me share my Easter look with you and hopefully give you a little bit of inspiration for your own looks this week!

Journey to Cruelty Free #1

Hey guys!

So, since becoming vegetarian, I really wanted to think about the makeup and skincare that I was using. I know that being a vegetarian doesn’t eliminate all of the cruelty involved in my eating habits but in the effort to minimise the hurt that I’m creating, I wanted to try to start using majority cruelty free products. I’m not doing this to make myself better than anyone else. This is just a personal preference that I believe aligns with my personal beliefs.

I plan on making this a sort of series where I update you all on my progress and my planning. In this post, I am going to identify what brands in my collection are cruelty free and to what degree they are cruelty free (brand doesn’t test/sell in China, parent company doesn’t sell in China, vegan). A lot of brands don’t test but their parent company sells to countries (China) where it is law to test on animals, so you’re still more or less buying into cruelty. I hope that this is helpful, I am only including brands that I personally use so this isn’t everything that is cruelty free by any means. This is already going to be the longest post ever haha. I hope that you enjoy the post!

Liptember Week 2!

Hey Guys!

It has been another week of Liptember and I can’t believe how quickly that I’m noticing this month is go by. Taking a selfie every day is a very interesting experience in itself haha. So once again, I’m going to show you my week of lip colours for Liptember and I’m also going to talk about what I’ve been able to talk about during this week. As per usual, you can learn more about Liptember here and you can donate here!

Day 8 – NYX Macaron Lippie – Blue Velvet

Day 9 – MAC – Heroine

Day 10 – Lancome – Rouge In Love – 351B

Day 11 – Wet n Wild – Pinkerbell

Day 12 – Colourpop – Dr. M

Day 13 – Milani – Hot Pink Rage

Day 14 – Revlon – Matte Balm – Shameless

I didn’t get to talk about mental health all that much this week. This week we also had Suicide Prevention Day or as some people know it, R U OK day. I have my own opinions of the whole R U OK idea but I know that to the core, it comes from a very good place and can help a lot of people. This week I also submitted an essay on a sociological theorist called Emile Durkheim who wrote on suicide and how society plays a large role in suicides and I think that if everyone gave his work a little read, we might all be better for it. Alternatively, I might submit my paper to so that you guys can read it because it will be in words that are much easier to understand than a proper theoretical paper haha.

I spoke to some people this week about how I am going mentally. September has actually been a pretty bad month for myself, mentally. I know though that talking about it with people that I can trust is really helping me a lot and I would encourage you all to do the same if you find yourself in a similar situation.

You’re worth receiving help. You don’t have to struggle through mental illness on your own.

Review: Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Colour!

I recently received my first Wet N Wild lipstick! In the US, these are one of the most affordable lipsticks available and they are known to be pretty good quality, especially for the price! Wet N Wild isn’t a brand that is available in Australia, at least not widely available and I’ve always wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I bought one off eBay and I’m pretty happy with it!

The shade that I purchased was 968 Pinkerbell.

I really wanted this shade because I had heard that it was a dupe for the MAC Viva Glam Nicki and I loved that lipstick but I often don’t have money when new MAC collections come out, so I missed out.

Pinkerbell is a warm bright pink and I think it is very flattering! I think that it would look best on people with dark skin tones but I do think it really could suit anyone with the right makeup!

Here are the lip swatches:

I also blotted the lipstick away because I wanted to show that this lipstick stains the lips nicely leaving a muted medium pink shade!

I definitely think that these lipsticks are worth the price in the US ($1.99) and even the price on Crush Cosmetics ($7 AUD) but you have to pay for shipping with Crush Cosmetics and I payed only $6.34 US for the product and shipping.
The only downside to these lipsticks is the packaging, the lipstick doesn’t fully roll down into the black tube so you need to be really careful not to hit it against the sides of the lid when closing it. The packaging also looks pretty cheap but the lipsticks are cheap! You can’t really expect much more from Wet N Wild at that price.

I hope you are having a great day!
