Femme Fatale Haul and Swatches

Hey guys!

Recently I placed my first order with Femme Fatale during their New Year Sale and let’s just say the saying ‘go big or go home’ really applied to this order. I have always loved pigments and I’d always ordered from Shiro Cosmetics. However, when their backlog of orders became too long a wait for me to handle, I decided that I needed to come back to an Australian store, where I’d at least only have to wait for processing. I know a few other bloggers really rave about their pigments so I really wanted to give them a go and I was PLEASANTLY surprised by the quality. I hope that you enjoy the haul and the swatches!

Makeup Geek Haul + Swatches!

Hey guys!

I made a Makeup Geek order on Black Friday and after many angry emails to Australia Post, I came to accept that my order had been lost in the post and I got in contact with Makeup Geek to resolve it. Makeup Geek’s customer service, as always, is perfection and they sent out a replacement of my order and it arrived this week so I really wanted to share what I received and how they swatched! I hope that you enjoy the post as much as I enjoyed swatching and playing with my new pretty things!

Swatch Fest: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Vault

Hey guys!

Last Sunday, I took a 10 minute break from work to run up to Target to purchase the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Vault for 40% off. When I first started this blog, I was a big fan of the Soft Matte Lip Creams and I wore them almost every day. They eventually dried out and I had to remove them from my collection, I never repurchased any shades but I’ve always been fond of them. When NYX released this vault of 36 mini Soft Matte Lip Creams, I knew I wanted it because they had a lot of colours that hadn’t been released in Australia that I’d been wanting to try, plus they were mini so I actually have a chance of finishing them before they dry out. Today I just wanted to do a swatch post and minor commentary. I hope that you enjoy!

My Inglot Eyeshadow Collection + Swatches

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to share with you all of the Inglot eyeshadows! I recently shared how I made a z-palette to house them and I’ve been using them all a lot, to the point where I’m pretty confident in saying that they’re my favourite eyeshadow formula. I wanted to share what I had because I have some really gorgeous shades that I think a lot of people would enjoy. These shadows just don’t get talked about enough and I want people to love them as much as I do. So without further ado, on to the swatches!

My Makeup Geek Collection!

Hey guys!

This week I thought I’d have gotten more posts up but because of AVCon and some other posts falling threw, I wasn’t able to post what I wanted to! If you follow me on Instagram then you’d have seen what I got up to! I will be making an AVCon post soon with a video and I’m hoping that that will be up soon, just waiting to get a few more photos back from shoots and things. But today I’m here to talk about my MUG collection!

Prior to my recent purchase, I’d bought 6 shadows that acted as dupes for the MAC x Cinderella Stroke of Midnight palette. I never made a post about them for some reason so I thought I’d just make a post about everything I have now! Especially since I have a palette to store my shadows in. During the free shipping sale, I took advantage of getting a few things that I probably wouldn’t have if I’d have had to pay for shipping. I believe that Makeup Geek doesn’t have flat rate shipping, so this free shipping sale was a pretty big deal for people outside of the US.

Here’s what I picked up in my most recent order:

So, I decided that I definitely needed a z-palette and I was tossing up between a few different colours but lavender is my favourite colour so it was really a no-brainer. Despite knowing the size, It was still bigger that I’d expected it to be. This will fit 27 eyeshadows, so I should be set on a place to keep my MUG shadows!

I also decided to pick up three eyeshadows, Vanilla Bean, Barcelona Beach, and Twilight. I bought Vanilla Bean because I wanted a shadow that matched my skin tone so that I could use it as a base. Prior to this order, I sort of had an add on palette rather than an all in one eye shadow palette, and that was what I was really looking for. Since NYX Taupe blush has been discontinued, I was looking for an alternative. Marlena always talks about using Barcelona Beach as a contour powder so I bought it for that and because it looked like a super useful shadow. I have since used it as a contour powder and it is very pigmented but if you apply it lightly, it does work! I will have to practice with it and at the moment, NYX Taupe is still my preferred contouring powder, but that might be because I’m familiar with it haha.

Here are all of my MUG shadows together in the z-palette:

The shadows that I have as dupes for the MAC x Cinderella Stroke of Midnight are; Ice Queen, Shimma Shimma, Preppy, Unexpected, Mesmerized (Foiled), and Drama Queen. I even talked to Marlena about it around the time that MAC had released that palette and she said that she thought that they were definitely the closest dupes from MUG.

Here is the palette swatched on to my hand:

Top: Ice Queen, Shimma Shimma, Preppy, Unexpected, Mesmerized
Bottom: Drama Queen, Vanilla Bean, Barcelona Beach, Twilight

There are some shades that I will definitely be picking up soon, like Bitten *grabby hands*. I definitely think my palette needs some variety now that I have my base shades done and some mauvey colours. Makeup Geek is my favourite makeup brand. They have cheap, good quality products and fantastic customer service. I also think that Marlena does a fantastic job representing the brand and they go above and beyond to have the customers involved in the brand and things like that. I just can’t get enough of Makeup Geek! I also can’t wait for their liquid lipsticks to be released.

I hope that you are all enjoying your day!

Review: Me Now Long Lasting Lip Gloss + swatches!

A little while ago I ordered some Me Now Long Lasting Lip Glosses after I’d seen them everywhere on Makeup Social. They are around $1-$3 AUD on eBay and that’s pretty much nothing when you think about makeup in Australia. I received them about 2 weeks later, which was totally awesome and unexpected because I heard it can take up to two months to receive them!

The reason that I purchased them was because:

1. I love matte liquid lipsticks

2. They are only around $1!!!

3. I can try lots of different colours and test out what looks good on my skin tone, especially now that I’m going through a stage where I have to darken up some of my foundations (thanks, summer).

I bought 6 shades and I have been wearing these since I bought them so that I could have lip swatches and solid opinions on their wear time and general feel.

Here are the shades I bought:

I thought I’d change up my picture a bit and take the photo outside because it was a nice day and I like nature-ish backgrounds to things so ye. In the little heart are the swatches on my hand. Now, I have a funny, related story about this day. When I was swatching the colours, I was super pumped. I was like ‘OH THIS IS A DUPE FOR THIS LALALA’ and I was going to put dupe swatches of high end underneath but I thought I’d do it after I’d taken proper photos, anyway, I decided against it afterwards because I feel like there are tonnes of dupes out there for these and you can just get on google – if you are interested I can make a separate post but I thought that it might have been too much for a quick-ish review. I was trying to get the colours off of my hands so I didn’t look crazy when I went out but I literally couldn’t get these off. The staying power is INSANE. My hands stain really bad as it is but this was crazy and I was so embarrassed ahhh. Anyway. Back to proper reviewing.

The colours that I bought are: 02, 10, 16, 25, 26, 28. The swatch order isn’t the same order as the lipsticks in my hand but the swatches are in chronological order. All of the colours that I received were super pigmented, I’ve heard that some people have had a bit of a hit and miss with the pigmentation of this product but they might just separate over time, and for the price, I don’t think that’s such a big deal.

Some people have said that these lip glosses (pretty much liquid lipstick) just don’t come off your lips and you need to either eat oily food or use an oil based makeup remover to remove the product. I did eat oily food when I tested these lip glosses and they did start to come off but never anything serious. But I was able to fully remove it with my face wipe so I don’t know what people were going on about. The staying power is really good but you are able to remove it so this isn’t a scary product at all. It’s super affordable and a great way to try out different lip colours.

They do smell kinda bad. They smell chemical-y and I don’t like it but its hardly noticeable after the product has dried on my lips. Also, they feel kinda funny on the lips, they don’t feel dry, they don’t feel creamy. They just feel like there’s something on your lips. You really have to wear it to understand what I mean haha.

Here are the swatches:

I didn’t swatch 10 on my lips because I haven’t worn it but I already know that I probably wont like it. I like the shade of nude that it is but it is a metallic finish but its still matte? Its kind of hard to describe.

My tips for wearing this product is to apply a lip balm before applying this, this is super essential. I wear one anyway but you can’t really go without wearing one for this because these will dry your lips out if you don’t wear a lip balm. I would also recommend wearing a lip liner because you then wont go out of the lines when applying. You can’t really afford to make a mistake with this lip product.

With all of that said, I’d recommend this product. I really want to pick up 18 because it is supposed to be a dupe for Lime Crime’s Cashmere Velvetine and as some people know, I’m pretty against Lime Crime but that doesn’t stop them from having pretty colours. Cashmere is a very unique colour that I didn’t think would suit me but lots of people have tried it on lots of different skin tones and its looked awesome so I wanted to try something similar!

I hope that you are having a lovely day!
