November Favourites

Hey guys!

November was a very busy month for me! It was my birthday, my brother’s birthday and my boyfriend’s birthday! Between the Priceline Cosmetics sale and actually having money (thank you, work), I’ve been able to try a lot of new things and fall in love with old things again. Also, I am planning another disappointing products post to make up for not adding that in my favourites each month. This way you’ll be able to see what I loved in my favourites and then what didn’t work for me in my disappointing products. If you’d like to see them combined into a favourites and fails post each month, next year, let me know! Now, on to the favourites!

Review: LUSH Buffy Body Conditioner

Hey guys!

Since I went to France, back at the end of 2013, I’ve been dealing with lower leg dermatitis from an injury… which I won’t go into too much detail about because it’s very embarrassing haha. My lower shin is very dry, has red bumps, and whenever my legs are hot, they become unbearably itchy. While I was at the LUSH event this month, I thought it’d be a great time to ask a few staff members for their recommendations to sooth the itch and treat my damaged skin! Along came Buffy and let’s just say my legs have never been better! I hope that you enjoy this review!

Review: Biore Charcoal Pore Minimiser Scrub

Hey guys!

Today I want to talk about a product that I’ve been using for quite a while now. I have always been nervous about scrubs because, on my skin, they can do more harm than good. This one appealed to me because it is meant to not only remove dead skin but also make pores smaller, and buddy have my pores been on show lately. I hope that you enjoy this review!

How to Make Your Own Facial Scrub!

Hey guys!

I recently have been reading a lot of articles that talk about how the microbeads in everyday exfoliators are really having an impact on our environment. It isn’t really something that you think about, I know I don’t. I just imagine that all of the little microbeads go down the drain and into another realm. That kind of thinking has got us into a little bit of a pickle, so today I’m going to share a quick and easy facial scrub recipe that you can make from things that you could find in your pantry.

Brown-Sugar-Scrub-Recipe

Brown sugar is one of the best pantry exfoliants that you can find. It is small enough to not tear at your skin (I suppose if you really wanted it to, it could. I wouldn’t recommend doing that though haha) and it’s tasty. This scrub is super simple and I know that you’ll all love it. And if you wouldn’t use it as a facial scrub, it would also work well in the shower.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of honey (plain or manuka)
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 drop of your favourite essential oil!

Method:

Mix ingredients in a bowl (revolutionary, am I right?)

How to Use:

Apply the scrub to your skin and massage in a circular motion to ensure that you’re removing dead skin from your face.
Rinse with warm water and press skin with a warm wash-cloth

After, you’ll want to apply moisturiser to cleansed, scrubbed skin. It’s super important to bring moisture back to your face!

You can make as much as you want of this, it will keep for a while 🙂

I hope that you’re all enjoying your day and I hope that this is helpful to you! If you don’t want to make your own scrub, LUSH do some really good facial scrubs. My favourite cleanser, Angels on Bare Skin uses almonds as an exfoliant!
