My MAC Lipstick Collection 2015

Hey guys!

Today, I thought that it would be fun to share my MAC lipstick collection with you all. I have 13 lipsticks but as I was writing this post, the MAC Magic of the Night collection was released and I bought two more lipstick but they won’t be in this post 😦 I will share them with you guys when they arrive, if not, I’m sure I’ll post them on my instagram. I hope that you enjoy this post!

Royal Ball (LE)

As you guys will know if you read my MAC x Cinderella Collection escapades, this lipstick was really annoying to get my hands on. I’m glad that I finally have it but the colour doesn’t suit me very well. I don’t mind though because I really just wanted this as a collectors item.

Viva Glam V

This was my first ‘nude’ MAC lipstick. I was so happy with this purchase because the lipstick suits me well and I love that the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS fund. If you know anything about me, you’ll know I love to buy products that take a portion or all of the profits and give them to charities or organisations that are doing a really good thing.

This is my most favourite MAC lipstick. It is the perfect nude colour and it goes with anything. I couldn’t be happier that I have this lipstick in my life.

This lipstick is so popular and it is popular for good reason. It is the perfect pinky-neutral colour. I’d definitely recommend picking it up if it is ever available because it sells out super duper quickly. Thanks, Kylie.

I remember buying this colour with a friend. I’d bought Heroine and Mehr together and I was so excited because they were both so gorgeous. Now that I have Mehr and Brave, they do seem a bit similar and if you were on a budget, I’d say that you probably don’t need both shades. Mehr is a bit darker so maybe if you had deeper skin, you might like Mehr more and you’d get a similar effect to what Brave might give on a lighter skin.

Speed Dial

I believe that I picked this shade up when I was coming back from France. I really like this colour and it is perfect for spring and summer but it isn’t a colour that I’m usually drawn to. I am, however, glad that I own this one. Good choice, past Sarah.

This was another lipstick that I picked up when I was flying home from France. I had been trying to sell it for a while but now I think that I’ll just keep it. I don’t wear these colours very often but I’m sure that I can find a time to wear it.

Speak Louder

I bought this lipstick last summer and it must have been on a whim because this is another colour that I’m generally not drawn to because it is quite warm. However, with the right makeup, this one can look really flattering on my skin tone.

This was my first ever MAC lipstick and I remember umming and aaahhing about purchasing it for about 3 months. I used to be able to pick it out immediately when I was looking for it at MAC counters. I was obsessed with it and then I finally bought it and lost it in the same week. It reappeared the day that I was packing for France so I brought it along with me. I still love this lipstick so much and regularly wear it.

This lipstick is so underrated. It looks so pretty on so many people. I bought this one on a whim too when I was a bit flustered at Dubai MAC in the Duty Free. The lipstick that I really wanted wasn’t available so I just looked at the lipsticks and said, ‘I’ll take this one then, thank you’. And I’m so glad that I did! I love this colour!

Flat Out Fabulous

This shade is a favourite for a lot of people. It is so flattering and highly pigmented. Funny story, I was creating the first image in this post and as I opened this tube of lipstick, the lipstick part flew out of the tube and I had a mini heart attack. $36 dollars flashed before my eyes. Luckily, It is alright, as you can see, I took the individual photo after the rocket launch. It just doesn’t completely close into the tube anymore so I need to be a bit careful with it.

I love this purple from MAC. It is super gorgeous but sometimes I find it a little hard to pull off. I thought that it was because it was very purple but since wearing Jeffree Star’s I’m Royalty, that isn’t the reason. It might just be too pink of a grape purple to be as flattering as it could be. Nonetheless, I still love this lipstick. I just need to get into the habit of wearing it more!

Russian Red

I love this red lipstick so much that I bought drugstore reds that were a similar colour to this so that I wasn’t always wearing this colour and wasting it. That sounds so stupid but I don’t want it to run out haha. I was tossing up between this shade and Ruby Woo but because this one is more comfortable and has more depth, I went with Russian Red and I’m really happy that I did.

I also had two more shades, Chatterbox and Sweetie but I sold them on Depop. Sweetie was too close to Plumful and I just didn’t like it as much and Chatterbox was a little too warm for me to really enjoy it on my skin tone so I am glad that they’ve found new homes ❤

I hope that you enjoyed this post! What are your favourite MAC Lipsticks?

Review: MAC Cinderella Royal Ball lipstick

My pride and joy, my baby. This lipstick was a pain in the butt to acquire and you can read all about what happened here and here I am to talk to you about what I think of the product.

Firstly, the packaging is beautiful. I love the colour and the way that it changes in the light. The only thing is that Australians had to pay $4 extra for this packaging but it feels a bit different to the regular packaging. Other than that, I really like it.

The colour is a bit off in this photo. Its more peachy than nudey-mauve like this picture is making it out it be. I knew that this product was going to be sheer because of all of the reviews I watched but that didn’t bother me. The colour was a lot lighter than I’d seen in pictures, which made me glad I didn’t settle for Free as a Butterfly because that would have looked horrendous on me.

Here are some lipswatches:

Cindy6 Cindy7

L to R: No lipstick – Lipstick

It doesn’t look like much on my lips but I was expecting that. I think I’m going to pair this up with a lip liner because I feel like this might be a touch too nude for me.

I’m so happy that I own it, regardless of whether it suits me best. I wanted this so badly and I wanted it as a collectors piece mostly.

What am I waiting on?

Since crying over MAC’s Cinderella release, I got to do some much needed retail therapy. I don’t actually like shopping online very much because I like to have things on the day of purchase or the next day. I’m super impatient haha. But I thought that while I wait, I’d share what I’m looking forward to over the next 2 or so weeks 🙂

Makeup Geek Shadows

I’ve been following Makeup Geek for a while and I know that they have a really big following online. I love Marlena and I think she promotes her products in a way that lets you know that she really cares for the brand. I chose these shadows because I wanted to make a more cost effective palette that looked a lot like the MAC Cinderella Stroke of Midnight palette. You get almost double the product in each shadow for half the price of the shadows. I am well aware that most of this palette is permanent shadows but in Australia, MAC shadows retail for $33AUD and I definitely wouldn’t pay that much for a shadow and I know that Makeup Geek have a good reputation and pretty colours. I’d been debating buying from here for a while so this was the perfect opportunity.

I didn’t buy a z palette to put them in because I was going to make my own! The colours that I picked up were Shimma Shimma, Ice Queen, Preppy, Unexpected, Mesmerized and Drama Queen. I’m getting email updates on the tracking because I’m so excited to use these!

mac-cinderella-lipstick-royal-ballMAC x Cinderella Royal Ball

This product has been a personal victory for me. I really hunted it down after missing out on it, as explained in this post. I got it for almost the same price as the Australian RRP + shipping so I am super happy about that. This is also something that I have email updates for because I am praying for its safe arrival. I honestly cannot wait for this to arrive.

Yugioh – Melodious Deck

As some of you may know, I play Yugioh with my friends and as this is non makeup related, I’m going to keep this super short and sweet. I love music and the card names are based around musical puns. One of my other decks is based around dessert puns. But I just bought the base cards that I needed for this deck because they’re getting some new cards released to make them awesome so the price of the cards will definitely grow in the next few months and I had had my eye on them for a while so I thought it was about time I bought them!

I thought I’d do this kind of post every now and then so that if you guys are interested in any products, you could comment asking me to do a review for anything that I’m waiting on! I tend to already have an idea of things I’d like to review but this way its more personal and I would love to be able to talk to you guys more 🙂

My MAC x Cinderella Experience

So, about a month ago, I made a post about being pretty excited about this collection (you can view it here). This collection has been the most frustrating collection release that I’ve ever been part of and I’m here to tell you everything that went down for the Australian release of the MAC Cinderella collection with the help of Effie Trinket pics.

If you live in Australia, you’re probably well aware of MAC’s inability to tell us any important information. And following the US release, we knew it was going to be a bloodbath by the time it got to Australia. It was the flippin’ makeup Hunger Games and I was having none of that.

get-the-look-2 MAC released the Cinderella collection online without any warning, so it wasn’t until I read on facebook, an hour later, that it was released online. And it was hard to find too. When I went to order just one of the lipsticks, it said it was in stock. Other items were out of stock so everything seemed to be updated normally and I was excited that I was in with a chance at getting my item. I checked 15 minutes later to see what was in stock still and the lipsticks were still in stock so I notified my instagram followers. I got an email confirming my order pretty much immediately and I was so excited.

585bef055f395289_1400688_803000503049936_273289660_o.preview_tall The next day at 9am, MAC sent an email to everyone on their mailing list to tell them that the collection had been released. A total waste of time considering everything from the collection was well and truly sold out by that point.

At 11am, I was notified by Paypal, not MAC, that my order had been cancelled and I was refunded because it said that they didn’t actually have any stock and if we had further questions, we could call them. I found out that this had happened to a lot of people and there were a tonne of angry customers. I was in class when I got that notification and I kinda started freaking out. It was such a rush the night before getting the item I really wanted and then the next day having it ripped from me. So, I called MAC and asked what was up. They said that they didn’t update site quickly enough and they said they tried to update it every 15 minutes. Like, did they know it was a limited edition collection?? I feel like that is a load of craaaaap because I know people after me purchased my items and received their products. Either way, I was without my lipstick.

elizabeth-banks-3 They told me that David Jones was releasing theirs online at 12am on Sunday so if I wanted another chance of getting it for Australian release prices, I could get it from there. On Saturday night, I was tossing up whether to get it or not because I believe that these kinds of things happen for a reason and I wouldn’t really be missing out on much if I didn’t get it. So I didn’t buy anything at 12am on the Sunday morning.

On Sunday, I heard that people had bought some products in store already meaning that Myer or David Jones had released it early. Again, no warning. About midday, I ordered from David Jones with the Click and Collect because it said that there was products still available to purchase. I wasn’t expecting anything to be available so it was a total surprise that it said that things were still available. Everything went through fine, confirmation email and everything and I was super hopeful.

The-Hunger-Games-Effie-Trinket-2 On Monday, the actual release day, I got a phone call at 12pm saying that they had had an error on their site and they actually didn’t have any stock left. The guy who called me actually didn’t know it was a limited edition collection… So, they called me at a time that I couldn’t even go and correct it by trying to line up in town and buy the product. I was so so disappointed. It’s really disappointing and totally unprofessional for them to keep those products in stock on the website and not update them. Twice, I got my hopes up to have them completely destroyed the next day.

effie-cf So, I’ve now bought one of the lipsticks from a girl on Instagram and I totally don’t have my hopes up that I’m actually going to get it because I’ve been let down by this collection haha. I heard that in store, most stores had a maximum of 10 of each item in the collection, meaning that if you wanted Royal Ball, you needed to be in the first 10 people because everyone wanted to buy it. Some stores had even less, like I heard that one store had 2 of everything! That’s not fair and its so ridiculous. Maybe MAC should start focusing on like one collection per season and make sure they have a good number of products so that people at least have a chance! This was so dumb and I am scared to think of what the Beauty and the Beast collection might be like next year.

I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and I hope that some of you were able to buy what you wanted! If you did manage to get anything, I’d love to see what you purchased! Hold your purchases like a trophy because guuuurl, that was so crazy.

MAC x Cinderella Reveal

MAC’s Cinderella collection has been something I’ve been waiting and waiting to hear news about and MAC has released a photo of their collection.

At first I was disappointed that they’d have a nude as the colour but I did a bit more digging and I found all of the items that will be in the collection!

mac-cinderella-lipstick-free-as-a-butterfly                                                  mac-cinderella-lipstick-royal-ball

L to R: Free as a butterfly, Royal Ball.
The two lipsticks in this collection are nudes and they actually don’t look too bad but they are definitely more suited to pale skin tones.

mac-cinderella-lipglass-happily-ever-after                                                  mac-cinderella-lipglass-glass-slipper

L to R: Happily Ever After, Glass Slipper.

I think that the lipglasses suit the lipsticks in this collection really well but it doesn’t feel very creative. I do think that they are very pretty but I don’t really think they look like anything special. Swatching them when they are released will be the way to go.

Stroke of Midnight

I really love the colours in this palette. I think they could have included a periwinkle shimmering blue to match the dress in the movie but I do like what they’ve done with the palette.

mac-cinderella-studio-eye-gloss-lightly-tauped                                               mac-cinderella-studio-eye-gloss-pearl-varnish

L to R: Lightly Tauped, Pearl Varnish

These eyeglosses look very pretty. I haven’t seen this product sold at MAC before – which might just be my lack of awareness – but they do look very interesting.

mac-cinderella-fluidline-little-black-bow                                           mac-cinderella-fluidline-macroviolet

L to R: Little Black Bow, Macroviolet

These fluidlines look great. I love Macroviolet and I think that if this is pigmented, it will be a great addition to anyone’s collection.

Iridescent Pressed Powder in Coupe D’Chic

Glitter in Reflects Pearl

mac-cinderella-pigment-evil-stepmother                                       mac-cinderella-pigment-pretty-it-up

Pigments in Stepmother, Pretty It Up

Stepmother looks really pretty and I am definitely considering this product!

Studio Fix Lash in Bold Black

I think it’s great that they have a regular item in the special packaging.

Beauty Powder in Mystery Princess

I would LOVE to own this product. I think that it looks beautiful!

I’m definitely getting one of the lipsticks and I’d love to get a few other things. This collection will be released next month and I cannot wait to get my hands on these items!

Hope that you’re all having a great day!
