February Empties

Hi guys, gals, and non-binary pals!

Today I’m talking trash and I assumed that because February has a few days less than the other months that I’d probably have less products finished up but I actually finished more products than last month! In this post I’ll share a few quick reviews of the products I used up and share the total value of the items. I hope that you enjoy!

Floral Avant-Garde look

Hey guys!

Today’s post is going to be on a look that I did mainly using Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks. I haven’t been able to post a creative look in such a long time and I feel so bad for lacking in that department because that was one of my most favourite things to post about. I’ve been wanting to get a little bit more creative with my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks because I have quite a collection now (I still don’t have enough, though) and I want to start using them for more that just liquid lipsticks. I hope that you enjoy this avant-garde look!

I basically wanted to do lots of flowers on my face. I have the anther of the flower on each of my temples with multicoloured petals shooting out from it on my forehead and cheekbones. My eyelids and lips became an anther too and I added white dots to symbolise the pollen pods and white petals around the eyes.

HAUL: Priceline Cashback!

I’ve mentioned a few times that I received my Priceline Sister cashback voucher about a month ago now and it was a ridiculous $32.25AUD! It probably came at the worst time though because I wasn’t lusting after anything but then I had a good think and because it really is a lot of money, I could get a few things that I’d been recommended without losing any of my own money!

So here is what I purchased:

image1

MODELSPREFER NUDE Eyeshadow Palette:

image3image4image5image6Procrasticaitlan pulled this little palette out of her hand bag at uni one day and it was love at first sight! I had to have this cute little palette. The colours are pigmented and blendable, best of all, it is cheap! I’ve never really purchased anything from MODELSPREFER because I wasn’t sure of the quality but now that I’ve tried this, I’ll be on the look out for any other good products from the brand!

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow:

image7image8This product was so disappointing! It looked stunning in the packaging but when you swatch it, you soon find out that the glitter is just a spray over! Why do companies do this??? WHAT DOES IT ACHIEVE??? The colour is also very very sheer. I haven’t tried applying it with a brush just yet but I’m hoping for better results there. Sad times.

Essence I ❤ Stage Eyeshadow Base:

image9Crystal Conte raves about this product and I know many others love this and seeing as I’ve been trying to find a good replacement for my Urban Decay Primer Potion, I thought I’d give this a go. The colour doesn’t look orange in the tube but when I tried it on the back of my hand, I realised it was very orange on my pale skin! Not to worry though, when its blended on to the skin its not noticeable at all and of course, you’ll have eyeshadow on top of this so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I think that it did make my eyeshadow last longer but it is no Primer Potion, that’s for sure.

Nivea Men Post Shave Balm:

image10I bought this because Queen NikkieTutorials admitted to using it as a primer and she was surprised at the results! I lose so much money thanks to Nikkie haha. So, I’ve been using this as an all over primer for the last week or so and it definitely makes my makeup look smoother. It works best for me when I apply my foundation on top with a beauty sponge. I don’t know if it makes my makeup last any longer, I do notice that I look shiny by the end of the day but my makeup hasn’t separated or anything. And I thought that this was going to smell very manly but it doesn’t smell too bad. When Caitlan and I smelt it in the bottle, we smelt nothing! But when I poured some on to my fingers before applying it to my face, I did notice that the smell was significantly more intense. I’ve asked people if they can smell after shave on me when I’ve worn this and so far friends says that they can’t smell anything but I have only properly asked my boyfriend to actually smell my face to see if he could smell it haha. He doesn’t have the best sense of smell as it is so he probably wasn’t the best person to ask. But yeah, I will probably continue to use this, nothing revolutionary but it definitely works as a primer 🙂

I hope that you’re having a wonderful day!

BellaBox October 2014: What Did I receive?

I think Bellabox have pretty much redeemed themselves with this latest box. Not only did it come pretty much on time, I think that  I will use all of the things in this box. I’m really happy about it because I hate to write negative things about products but I have to give my honest opinion.

This month was Bellabox’s 3rd birthday! This month’s theme was ‘Born to be Wild’ and it featured Bellabox’s favourite things. And the blue box was back haha.

Here is what I received:

Model CO. Skincare:

image (6)

I’ve never tried anything by Model Co. and I’ve always wanted to so I’m glad that this was in my box this month. I haven’t heard anything about any of these products so I guess I’ll just have to try them myself and hope for the best!

Value: for all $2.83 (RRP for all $88.00)

Rimmel Lip Product (Apocalips):

I have quite a lot of these and I do enjoy them, this is probably the colour that I was least likely to purchase but I’m still happy that I got it because it means that I get a chance to see what this colour would look like on me. I have a pink lipliner on under the gloss to make it look better on my skin but the swatch on my hand is the true colour.

Value: RRP: $15.95

NIVEA Stress Protect Deodorant:

image (1)

I got this product from a PINCH ME sample a couple of months ago so I already have an opinion on this. I actually really hate this product if you use it on an every day basis. It doesn’t last long at all. I still sweat when I wear this but i suppose my sweat doesn’t smell? A little bit too much information haha. I just carry around this sample in my bag in case I somehow forget to put on deodorant in the morning before uni. There is a roll on version and I hear that it is much better.

Value: $? (RRP: $6.59)

Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner:

image (2)

You can’t go wrong with samples of good shampoos and conditioners. However there have been shampoo and conditioner samples in a lot  of the boxes lately and I’d rather have something else because my samples are kind of piling up now.

Value: $1.82 (RRP: $13.98)

Kester Black For Bellabox Polish in Ruby Tuesday:

image (3)

I am quite excited to use this product. I’m not sure if it is any good or not but I don’t have a red nail polish so I’m happy to add this to my little collection. This is quite expensive! I don’t think that I would ever purchase another colour and that might just be because I’ve never heard of this brand and if I was going to spend that much, I would rather spend it on a brand I know and enjoy, like OPI or Essie.

Value: RRP: $20

MOR Hand Cream:

image (4)

I’ve really wanted to try these hand creams so I’m glad this little sample was in my box this month!

Value: $0.56 (RRP: $14.95)

Overall I am quite happy with this box this month! I think that this box is what we should expect every month. This is the kind of stuff that is worth paying for. I’m actually getting to try stuff that I may never have tried.

Total Value: $41.16 (RRP $159.47)

Mini Lipstick Graveyard~

As you may have seen on my previous posts about my lipstick collection, I’ve accumulated a lot of lip products over the last 2 years and I thought it might be a good idea to start getting rid of some that I either don’t use or just don’t really need.
I counted 191 lipsticks and believe it or not, I have a few coming in the mail soon.

Here is a picture of part of my makeup table:

image (8)

There are lip products in the containers to the left, eye shadows and such in the top right corner, circle lenses and coloured contacts below that and then my little nail polish collection.

And this is what I took away from my lip products:

image (9)

L to R Top: Mio Piccolo shade 03, Rimmel Drop of Sherry and Pink Blush, Nivea Gloss Balm, Christian Dior Gloss gift set, Elf Fantasy, Essense XXXL gloss.

L to R Middle: Inglot Lipsticks, Maybelline Pink Beam and Luminous Lilac, Essence Wear Berries!, Esis Rose Nude, Inglot Lip Duo in 24.

L to R Bottom: Essences Beauty Beats gloss, Models Prefer Balm Stain.

Not a lot left but it definitely feels better to have removed some, I have a bit of a hording issue with lipsticks so this is progress. I’m sure I’ll do another one of these posts in the future.

Now I’ll explain why I’m not keeping these and where they’ll be going:

I have two Rimmel lipsticks, Drop of Sherry and Pink Blush that are leaving my collection. I love Rimmel and I love their lipsticks but I don’t think that these two suit me all that well. Drop of Sherry has quite a frosty finish and I think its more of an older shade for me. And Pink Blush is also quite frosty but the real issue is that its too blue toned for my skin, which is weird because I suit those kinds of colours pretty well. My Mum has claimed these, she likes to try products and I think she would use them more than I would.

There are two Inglot lipsticks, I don’t remember the numbers and that is a little bit why I am not keeping them. I don’t like that the colours are just labelled by number and the number has little to no indication of what the colour could be. Their system needs to be changed because its really inconvenient. I bought these when I was first really getting into makeup and I didn’t really know what I liked, these where half price and I’d never bought anything more high end before so these at the time where quite exciting but they’re both extremely frosty, so is the one I am keeping but the one I’m keeping is less obnoxious and I think I could find a way to make it work. I just hate the way these two make me look. One is a medium pink and one is a lilac shade. The lilac is so shimmery that it looks white in some photos. I have similar colours in my collection that have a nicer finish so I thought I’d let these two go. The pink is going to my Mum and the lilac is in a bag waiting to be assessed by one of my friends.

The nivea gloss I bought while I was in France and I don’t really know what possessed me to buy it but I did. I’ve used it once and I don’t really like it. It is just a little squeezy tube and I just don’t reach for it at all. My Mum will be trying this.

The five little Dior lipglosses look like they would be awesome but their just so bad. I got them really cheap in a gift set and they are pretty much all the same colour and finish. I’ve used them once or twice and I just never reach for them. They’re just taking up space so they’ll probably be thrown away because I don’t think they’re really good enough for anyone.

The Elf Lipstick was something I accidentally purchased. On the Australian website if something is out of stock, it just flicks to the first lipstick in stock and I didn’t see that it hadn’t gotten the colour I was after. I don’t know if that is the same for the American site or not but it is really annoying and i think they should just highlight what is in stock and mute the word of the shades not in stock. The way they’ve set it up is quite annoying. Its more expensive to purchase in Australia than in America but I don’t mind that this was a bit of a waste. This is probably just going to the bin. I don’t imagine anyone I know would want this.

The two maybelline lipsticks were ebay purchases and I think I just bought them because they were cheap. They’ll probably be chucked out.

The Essence lipstick, beauty beats gloss and XXXL gloss are just three products I don’t ever use even though they’re nice. I just can’t imagine picking them up when I have so many others. There’s nothing greatly wrong with any of them.

The Models Prefer Balm is okay, I got it in one of the Priceline gift bags. I have a lot of the Revlon Balm Stains and I like them better than most of the other ones you can get so I just don’t see myself using it.

Thank you for reading! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to comment or send me a message 🙂
