MOTD: Mabon

Hey guys!

Thanks to my great feedback from my Lughnasadh MOTD, I thought that I’d keep this series going and try and do a different look for each of the holidays this year! Mabon is the Autumn Equinox and is the second harvest festival of the year! I hope that you enjoy this look, I had a lot of fun wearing it!

100 Days of Makeup 65-71

Hey guys!

This week I had some SUPER exciting things happen! I had my first job interview  in about 2 years(and got the job!), my boyfriend and I had our three year anniversary, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children premiered! I’m yet to see the movie but it’s a public holiday in Adelaide today so I might see it today! I hope that you enjoy this week’s looks!

MOTD: Adele’s Hello

Hello… It’s me.

This song absolutely blew up on the internet and is still being sung constantly by pretty much everyone and their dog and I thought that it was about time that I honoured Adele’s gorgeous eyeliner and cheekbone contour by trying to recreate the look that she wore in the music video! I hope that you enjoy!

I used this Nikkie Tutorials tutorial to help me recreate this look. Because I was using this tutorial as a guide, I was also using a few elements that Nikkie was using from Adele’s SNL performance, like the glitter eyeliner.

Slimming down the moon that is my face and clean eyeliner that suits hooded eyes are two things that I cherish. They’re also two things that Adele’s iconic makeup features. Michael Ashton is her regular makeup artist but I’m not sure if he was the makeup artist for this music video. If anyone knows who it was, I’d really appreciate it!

Review: Milani Baked Blushes

I just received two new Milani baked blushes so I thought I’d write a full review of all of the blushes I have. I was so sad when Cherry Culture took off all brands off of their website except their own and NYX. I love NYX but that was the cheapest place (plus shipping) that I could purchase Milani products, plus they tend to have some really good sales so I was pretty devastated that I had to go find a new place to purchase my beloved Milani products. Milani was also better stocked than NYX . Ugh I’m so sad haha.

I bought the two new blushes from eBay, from beautyjoint for around $10 AUD which is pretty much what I would have paid from Milani if I bought any of the blushes full priced. On places like Crush Cosmetics, Milani Blushes are around $14-16 AUD and then on top of that is shipping so I only really have eBay to turn to at this point.

Here are the blushes:

L to R: Luminoso, Rose D’oro, Red Vino

I’ve used Luminoso for seven months now and you can’t even see that I’ve made any dent. These blushes are so pigmented and beautiful. You don’t need very much to get a nice blushy look going on. I love Luminoso because it makes you look really fresh and awake. Its the perfect summer blush. I’ve been lusting over Rose D’oro since I purchased Luminoso and knew how beautiful the blushes were. I’m so glad that I have it. Its more of a darker and bronzier blush compared to Luminoso. And Red Vino is just stunning. I think I’ll definitely get a lot more use out of these.

Here are the blushes swatched:

Here is Red Vino blended into my hand:

I just used what was left on my finger from the initial swatch to show you this, so they’re seriously pigmented. Red Vino in particular looks STUNNING in the packaging and in the swatch.

That’s the only bad thing about these blushes, the packaging is just so bulky. I think that I might invest in a magnetic palette and depot these into that because I am always travelling and carrying more than one of these blushes in my makeup back is a real task.

I’d highly recommend trying these blushes, buying these blushes, loving these blushes. I think that they are a staple in anyone’s makeup collection. They are fantastic quality and they are such a decent price.

I hope that you are all enjoying your day!

MOTD: Princess and the Frog 5th Anniversary!

Today, I am celebrating 5 years since the movie, The Princess and the Frog premiered! I love this movie so much and it makes me cry so I thought that I would celebrate it by doing some sort of makeup look inspired buy Tiana and the swampy parts of the movie.

I am hoping to do a Disney Makeup series where I do eye looks for characters but it will all depend on how it will fit into my post schedule because I have a lot planned!

Here is the look:

I tried out the *Benefit Bling Brows for this look, I wasn’t planning on doing it originally but I wanted to make this look a little bit more special because Tiana deserves the glamourous life that she has been working hard to achieve. I did originally take some photos before I added the Bling Brows because they pretty much remove all the makeup that you’ve applied underneath, when you take them off, so that if I didn’t like the way that they looked, I’d have a back up.
I used Inglot eyeshadows in a deep matte brown shade, moss green shade, white gold shade and a frosty white shade to achieve the eye look, with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base. I wanted to choose colours that reminded me of Tiana’s Princess dress and the swamp that they go to, to see Mama Odie. The white is for Evangeline.
On my cheeks, I used Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso and highlighted with Essence’s Baked Eyeshadow in Icylicious. I just picked these colours because I think that Tiana would look super nice in this blush if she was real and I love it because it looks really healthy and glowy.
On my lips, I used SHE Aromatheraphy lipstick in Princess because I thought it was a great neutral colour to balance out the makeup and because I thought that the name suited.
Here are some photos in my bathroom:

And here are some in natural light with hair done:

There ain’t nothing gonna stop me now, ’cause I’m almost there~

I even bought one of those hair socks so that I could have the perfect princess bun but silly me forgot to take a photo of it!!

I really love this movie, my favourite character, if not Tiana or Dr Facilier, is Ray because of how much he loves Evangeline. The poor thing makes me cry every time.

*Benefit Bling Brows were sent to me to try, I am not sponsored by Benefit and my opinions are my own.

MOTD: Regina from Once Upon A Time!

Regina (The Evil Queen) is one of my favourite character on the TV show Once Upon A Time. She has one of the best stories on the show and I think she is probably the most well written character. Season 4 premiered a week ago and the promo posters were beautiful. Regina’s makeup just looked beautiful and I just had to try to recreate it!

I drew on the mole initially and took photos but I prefer it without so I rubbed it off for the second lot of photos.

With mole:

Cherry Culture Haul: NYX and Milani

Cherry Culture is one of my favourite online stores for makeup. As I’ve said previously, you can now buy NYX from Target but it still works out to be cheaper if I get it from Cherry Culture and they have most of the newer collections. As far as I’m aware, you can buy some Milani in Australia but its not a lot. Like maybe an eye shadow palette. And I really love the one Milani lipstick I have (Sangria) so I thought it was about time I purchase some more.

L to R: Free Bubble Gum lip balm, NYX Butter Gloss in Cherry Pie and Red Velvet, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, Milani Color Statement Lipsticks in Best Red, Plumrose and Hot Pink Rage.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso:

This blush is really really hyped over youtube and blog communities and I’ve been looking for a new blush so I thought I may as well give it a try. This is a really coral and really shimmery. Its really really beautiful and I have no regrets. It doesn’t really have a scent.

I bought it for 8 USD.

Milani Color Statement Lipsticks:

I think all of the colours I got have a creme finish but I could be wrong. They all look creamy but they have some funny finishes like vinyl and things like that which I have a feeling Best Red might be but I am not sure.

L to R: Best Red, Plumrose and Hot Pink Rage.

Swatches are further down 🙂

I’m really excited to use these. They all have the perfect creamy feel and a sweet smell.

They were 5.50 USD with the Lip Product sale.

NYX Butter Glosses:

I only had Tiramisu and Creme Brulee which are nude colours from this collection but I loved them so much and I had really been wanting the red colour from the first release of Butter Glosses and Cherry Culture had colours from the latest release so I thought I’d pick up on. They are so lovely and glossy. They smelly super sweet like caramel or toffee.

They were 5 USD with the Lip Product sale.

Here are the swatches of the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks and the NYX Butter Glosses:

Now I’ve got to find some room in my containers for these new products!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day!
