Love It or Leave It: Drugstore Loose Face Powders

Hi guys, gals and non-binary pals!

Today I wanted to start what might turn into a bit of a series. While working on my 100 Days of Makeup looks, I go through a lot of face powder, so I try to not use my favourite Australis Fresh N Flawless because it’s a bit of an expense to use that on a look I’m not even going to wear for more than an hour. I’ve tried a BUNCH of drugstore loose face powders because a lot of them have more product, they’re cheaper, and I feel that it’s easier to get all of the powder out of those containers. So with all of my expertise, I thought I’d share my loose face powder love its and leave its!

Project Pan: 20 Products in 20 Weeks!

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to introduce my 2nd project pan! After completing my first project pan one month ago, I was itching to start another one but this time, I’d know what worked and what didn’t and tailor it to my needs and goals! If you’re unfamiliar with ‘panning’, Project Pan is where you select a certain number of beauty products with the intention of ‘panning’ them. Panning itself can mean either hitting pan, or using them up entirely. Due to my lack of success with restricting spending on beauty entirely, I participate in Project Pans because they encourage me to understand how long it takes to finish a product and stops me from overspending that way. As the title suggests, this project pan will last 20 weeks (December 1st to April 20th) and includes 20 items. This time, I’ve included a few different products because I really want to get my money’s worth and remove them from my room clutter. I hope that you enjoy this post!

100 Days of Makeup 79-85

Hey guys!

This week I started to introduce more Halloween friendly looks because I’m getting so excited about sharing my Halloween Week! While I’m talking about Halloween Week, next week there will be no 100 Days of Makeup post because Halloween Week will have begun, which is 5 looks for the 5 week days before Halloween. I will be posting the looks that I share on instagram this week on Halloween Monday, along with Saturday, Sunday and Monday’s looks, to finish off the challenge! I’m so excited!

‘Round and ’round like a horse on a Carousell

Hey guys!

Today, I’m going to be talking about an app that I think everyone who hoards things needs. I collect a lot of makeup and part of that is because I love it and part of it is because I want to talk about new things on my blog a lot but lately I’ve been watching A LOT of project pans, declutter, and minimalism videos on YouTube and I’ve become inspired to downsize my collection a bit. Especially with my Journey to Cruelty-Free. I’d originally been using Depop to try to sell some things but I never made much from it so I found a new app called Carousell and within the last week I made over $100+ so I just HAD to talk about it with you. This post isn’t sponsored, it’s just a friendly suggestion to those who want to make money and turn trash into treasure!

Journey to Cruelty Free #2

Hey guys!

If you haven’t read my first post in my cruelty free series, I’d recommend you start there before reading this one. In this post, I am going to be talking about the percentage of my collection that is cruelty free and how easy it is for me to create a cruelty free face of makeup with the products that I already own. I hope that you enjoy!

Full Face Using Only Highlighters Challenge!

Hey guys!

I’m sure that you’ve seen this challenge everywhere because it’s really been done to death BUT it is also super fun and if you want to give it a go, don’t let over production stop you! This challenge started after Mariya on posted a video using only highlighters and it became a meme on Instagram! Since then, YouTubers and bloggers have been attempting to recreate it with their own highlighters! It’s super fun and it was a great way for me to use some highlighters that I haven’t used in a little bit! I hope that you enjoy!

Journey to Cruelty Free #1

Hey guys!

So, since becoming vegetarian, I really wanted to think about the makeup and skincare that I was using. I know that being a vegetarian doesn’t eliminate all of the cruelty involved in my eating habits but in the effort to minimise the hurt that I’m creating, I wanted to try to start using majority cruelty free products. I’m not doing this to make myself better than anyone else. This is just a personal preference that I believe aligns with my personal beliefs.

I plan on making this a sort of series where I update you all on my progress and my planning. In this post, I am going to identify what brands in my collection are cruelty free and to what degree they are cruelty free (brand doesn’t test/sell in China, parent company doesn’t sell in China, vegan). A lot of brands don’t test but their parent company sells to countries (China) where it is law to test on animals, so you’re still more or less buying into cruelty. I hope that this is helpful, I am only including brands that I personally use so this isn’t everything that is cruelty free by any means. This is already going to be the longest post ever haha. I hope that you enjoy the post!
