Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Dupes

Hi guys, gals and non-binary pals

Prior to the reviews and the online catastrophe that was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette, I really wanted to purchase this palette. I adore the shades and it’s very different to anything that I currently own. This palette had a lot of tones that I thought would be much more fun to play around with than the Modern Renaissance palette, which is supposed to be the sister palette to the Subculture palette. I still find that that the shades in that palette can border pink-eye type looks, even though I do love burgundy shadow. So I thought Subculture would be right up my alley and then all the reviews came out and I just couldn’t risk spending the money on something that just wasn’t great quality. So I thought I’d create a dupes post using my favourite brands of single shadows, Makeup Geek and Inglot, to create a sort of similar palette out of the shades that both brands currently sell. I will have two separate dupe palettes created so that you could purchase all of the shadows from one store. I hope that you find this post helpful!

Kat Von D Serpentina Inglot Dupes!

Hey guys!

I think by now you’ve understood my love of Inglot eyeshadows. Not only are they great value for money, they have such a variety of shades that it makes it easy to dupe a lot of other palettes and shades. The Kat Von D Serpentina palette was on my radar since the first minute we saw any sort of sneak peek and since reviews have started emerging, with some shadows under-performing, I looked to my pal Inglot and have found what I believe to be the best dupes for every shade in the limited edition The Kat Von D Serpentina eyeshadow palette. This will be great for those of you with a substantial Inglot collection, those who don’t support Kat Von D, and for those who just want to get the best quality for their dollar! Enjoy!

My Inglot Eyeshadow Collection + Swatches

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to share with you all of the Inglot eyeshadows! I recently shared how I made a z-palette to house them and I’ve been using them all a lot, to the point where I’m pretty confident in saying that they’re my favourite eyeshadow formula. I wanted to share what I had because I have some really gorgeous shades that I think a lot of people would enjoy. These shadows just don’t get talked about enough and I want people to love them as much as I do. So without further ado, on to the swatches!

What am I waiting on?

Since crying over MAC’s Cinderella release, I got to do some much needed retail therapy. I don’t actually like shopping online very much because I like to have things on the day of purchase or the next day. I’m super impatient haha. But I thought that while I wait, I’d share what I’m looking forward to over the next 2 or so weeks 🙂

Makeup Geek Shadows

I’ve been following Makeup Geek for a while and I know that they have a really big following online. I love Marlena and I think she promotes her products in a way that lets you know that she really cares for the brand. I chose these shadows because I wanted to make a more cost effective palette that looked a lot like the MAC Cinderella Stroke of Midnight palette. You get almost double the product in each shadow for half the price of the shadows. I am well aware that most of this palette is permanent shadows but in Australia, MAC shadows retail for $33AUD and I definitely wouldn’t pay that much for a shadow and I know that Makeup Geek have a good reputation and pretty colours. I’d been debating buying from here for a while so this was the perfect opportunity.

I didn’t buy a z palette to put them in because I was going to make my own! The colours that I picked up were Shimma Shimma, Ice Queen, Preppy, Unexpected, Mesmerized and Drama Queen. I’m getting email updates on the tracking because I’m so excited to use these!

mac-cinderella-lipstick-royal-ballMAC x Cinderella Royal Ball

This product has been a personal victory for me. I really hunted it down after missing out on it, as explained in this post. I got it for almost the same price as the Australian RRP + shipping so I am super happy about that. This is also something that I have email updates for because I am praying for its safe arrival. I honestly cannot wait for this to arrive.

Melodious

Yugioh – Melodious Deck

As some of you may know, I play Yugioh with my friends and as this is non makeup related, I’m going to keep this super short and sweet. I love music and the card names are based around musical puns. One of my other decks is based around dessert puns. But I just bought the base cards that I needed for this deck because they’re getting some new cards released to make them awesome so the price of the cards will definitely grow in the next few months and I had had my eye on them for a while so I thought it was about time I bought them!

I thought I’d do this kind of post every now and then so that if you guys are interested in any products, you could comment asking me to do a review for anything that I’m waiting on! I tend to already have an idea of things I’d like to review but this way its more personal and I would love to be able to talk to you guys more 🙂

Review: Me Now Long Lasting Lip Gloss + swatches!

A little while ago I ordered some Me Now Long Lasting Lip Glosses after I’d seen them everywhere on Makeup Social. They are around $1-$3 AUD on eBay and that’s pretty much nothing when you think about makeup in Australia. I received them about 2 weeks later, which was totally awesome and unexpected because I heard it can take up to two months to receive them!

The reason that I purchased them was because:

1. I love matte liquid lipsticks

2. They are only around $1!!!

3. I can try lots of different colours and test out what looks good on my skin tone, especially now that I’m going through a stage where I have to darken up some of my foundations (thanks, summer).

I bought 6 shades and I have been wearing these since I bought them so that I could have lip swatches and solid opinions on their wear time and general feel.

Here are the shades I bought:

IMG_0376

I thought I’d change up my picture a bit and take the photo outside because it was a nice day and I like nature-ish backgrounds to things so ye. In the little heart are the swatches on my hand. Now, I have a funny, related story about this day. When I was swatching the colours, I was super pumped. I was like ‘OH THIS IS A DUPE FOR THIS LALALA’ and I was going to put dupe swatches of high end underneath but I thought I’d do it after I’d taken proper photos, anyway, I decided against it afterwards because I feel like there are tonnes of dupes out there for these and you can just get on google – if you are interested I can make a separate post but I thought that it might have been too much for a quick-ish review. I was trying to get the colours off of my hands so I didn’t look crazy when I went out but I literally couldn’t get these off. The staying power is INSANE. My hands stain really bad as it is but this was crazy and I was so embarrassed ahhh. Anyway. Back to proper reviewing.

The colours that I bought are: 02, 10, 16, 25, 26, 28. The swatch order isn’t the same order as the lipsticks in my hand but the swatches are in chronological order. All of the colours that I received were super pigmented, I’ve heard that some people have had a bit of a hit and miss with the pigmentation of this product but they might just separate over time, and for the price, I don’t think that’s such a big deal.

Some people have said that these lip glosses (pretty much liquid lipstick) just don’t come off your lips and you need to either eat oily food or use an oil based makeup remover to remove the product. I did eat oily food when I tested these lip glosses and they did start to come off but never anything serious. But I was able to fully remove it with my face wipe so I don’t know what people were going on about. The staying power is really good but you are able to remove it so this isn’t a scary product at all. It’s super affordable and a great way to try out different lip colours.

They do smell kinda bad. They smell chemical-y and I don’t like it but its hardly noticeable after the product has dried on my lips. Also, they feel kinda funny on the lips, they don’t feel dry, they don’t feel creamy. They just feel like there’s something on your lips. You really have to wear it to understand what I mean haha.

Here are the swatches:

I didn’t swatch 10 on my lips because I haven’t worn it but I already know that I probably wont like it. I like the shade of nude that it is but it is a metallic finish but its still matte? Its kind of hard to describe.

My tips for wearing this product is to apply a lip balm before applying this, this is super essential. I wear one anyway but you can’t really go without wearing one for this because these will dry your lips out if you don’t wear a lip balm. I would also recommend wearing a lip liner because you then wont go out of the lines when applying. You can’t really afford to make a mistake with this lip product.

With all of that said, I’d recommend this product. I really want to pick up 18 because it is supposed to be a dupe for Lime Crime’s Cashmere Velvetine and as some people know, I’m pretty against Lime Crime but that doesn’t stop them from having pretty colours. Cashmere is a very unique colour that I didn’t think would suit me but lots of people have tried it on lots of different skin tones and its looked awesome so I wanted to try something similar!

I hope that you are having a lovely day!

Dupe! MAC Viva Glam Miley!

I’d seen a lot of people sporting the latest Viva Glam limited edition lipstick, Viva Glam Miley. It’s a beautiful colour and it suits a lot of skin tones. The colour itself is a very safe choice for MAC and I’m sure that it will sell well. If you are, however, not willing to spend the money on MAC, there is an alternative!

Thanks to the instagram accounts DupeThat and LipstickJunkieForever, we now know that the Maybelline Vivid in Vivid Rose is almost identical to Viva Glam Miley. I own the dupe and it is so exciting to know that I already have this colour and seeing as the Maybelline Vivids were so popular, you may have it also!

Hope that you’re all having a great day!

Priceline 40% Off Cosmetics Haul!

Last night, I saw on the Makeup Social app that a few girls were saying that Priceline were going to be having their 40% off cosmetics sale and they usually have it at around this time of the year so I was hoping that it wasn’t a joke or anything. But Priceline are sneaky little butts and even though people were asking for confirmation they were saying, ‘we can’t reveal anything about upcoming sales’. YEAH OKAY, PRICELINE.

I went shopping with Zoe and Caitlan, two beauty bloggers and two of my closest friends 🙂

Anyway! Here is what I picked up!

IMG_7080

I know that a lot of people come in with an amount that they want to spend and a list of things they want when this sale comes around but this is probably the first time that I’ve actually been financially comfortable and I just bought things that I either needed or really wanted, without thinking ‘oh I want to make sure I spend under this amount’. I only bought one thing that is actually ‘expensive’ than came down to a normal price, but I’ll get to the price and the savings I made.

MODELS PREFER Day to Night Eyeshadow Palette:

IMG_7053
IMG_7054

My good buddy, Caitlan who runs the blog Procrasticaitlan, has written a review on all of these Models Prefer palettes and you can read her review here. I’m really glad that I got this palette. I’m always cautious to buy the not so well known brands in Priceline but Caitlan really enjoys these so I thought I’d give them a go! I love the brush that comes with this palette too!

RRP: $10/Sale Price: $6

Revlon Photoready Primer:

IMG_7057

This has been my favourite primer for a really long time but it is way too expensive to buy regularly, so I just had to buy it during this sale. I was debating whether I should buy this one that I love or the L’Oreal Instant Blur but the Instant Blur wasn’t on sale so I thought I may as well get my favourite for a good price. I’ve also never tried this with my current makeup routine so this should be interesting.

RRP: $29.95/Sale Price: $17.97

L’Oreal Glam Matte Gloss in Zip it Rouge:

IMG_7058
IMG_7059 IMG_7061
This product is relatively new in Priceline, I know I’ve never seen it before today but my friends and I all said, ‘a matte gloss?’ talk about an oxymoron. I just had to swatch it to see how it applied. It seems to be like the Rimmel Apocalips glosses but it dries down to a matte but not like the Australis Velourlips or the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I love the colour and I could see myself getting a few more of these in the future when they are on sale again.

RRP: $21.95/Sale Price: $13.17

Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust For Blush:

IMG_7062
IMG_7063 IMG_7065

This colour is really hyped up in the beauty community and as I’ve been looking for some more neutral lip colours, I thought I’d grab this because I love the one that I have and I like this colour a lot.

RRP: $14.95/Sale Price: $8.97

Face of Australia Blushes:

IMG_7066
IMG_7068

L to R: Primrose and O Peachy!
I really like the brand Face of Australia and they are finally getting some good hype online, so I thought I’d pick up two of their blushes because I’ve been on a bit of a blush hype lately! O Peachy looks just like NARS Orgasm! If you really want Orgasm but you’re not sure that you want to spend all of that money on that blush, maybe pick this up! I’m considering doing a full review of the Face of Australia blushes.

RRP: $9.45/Sale Price: $5.67

Maybelline Hyperglossy Liner:

IMG_7069

This is my every day liner. I love it and I can’t see myself wanting to get any other liner unless this becomes discontinued (touch wood).

RRP: $9.95/Sale Price: $5.97

O.P.I. Nail Laquer in Pamplona Purple and Sally Hanson Salon Manicure in Water Color:

IMG_7071

Its really exciting that O.P.I. is in Priceline. There isn’t a big display or anything at any of the Priceline stores that I’ve been to but there is a bucket near the front or around with a few O.P.I nail laquers. I bought one of these new Sally Hansen Nail Polish’s recently, I bought the shade Barracuda, pretty much just for the name but the colour is beautiful. I wanted to get a similar colour so that I could start doing more nail art.

O.P.I. Priceline Price: $10/Sale Price: $6
Sally Hansen RRP: $9.95/Sale Price: $5.97

Savvy Classic Blush in Petal:

IMG_7073
IMG_7074

I love the Savvy blushes. I’d love to do a full review of these in the future because I think that they are really worthwhile and they’re only $5! They’re very pigmented and they’re great quality! Definitely check out this product. I have most of the colours now haha

RRP: $4.99/Sale Price: $2.99

SHE Aromatherapy Lipstick in Afina:

IMG_7076 IMG_7077

I recently purchased another one of these lipsticks and I am enjoying them quite a bit. The only thing that I don’t really like is the scent. It kind of smells like rose tea.

RRP: $14.95/Sale Price: $8.97

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Soft Brown:

IMG_7078

I lost my last brow pencil and I’ve enjoyed this pencil before so I thought I’d pick it up again because I’m pickin up my brow game for cheap. I like these because they aren’t too red toned.

RRP: $11.50/Sale Price: $6.90

I’m really happy with everything that I purchased today and I’m hoping to get a couple of reviews up featuring some of the products featured in this post! In the end, I was able to save $62.84, which is huge! If you’re thinking of buying things during this sale or you’ve already bought, let me know what you’re planning on buying or what you’ve bought already!
