‘Round and ’round like a horse on a Carousell

Hey guys!

Today, I’m going to be talking about an app that I think everyone who hoards things needs. I collect a lot of makeup and part of that is because I love it and part of it is because I want to talk about new things on my blog a lot but lately I’ve been watching A LOT of project pans, declutter, and minimalism videos on YouTube and I’ve become inspired to downsize my collection a bit. Especially with my Journey to Cruelty-Free. I’d originally been using Depop to try to sell some things but I never made much from it so I found a new app called Carousell and within the last week I made over $100+ so I just HAD to talk about it with you. This post isn’t sponsored, it’s just a friendly suggestion to those who want to make money and turn trash into treasure!

NYX FACE Awards: Anime

Hey guys!

The NYX FACE Awards second challenge is up and running and this challenge is ‘Anime’! I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard that that was going to be the theme! Seeing as I was already making a costume for an anime character for AVCon this year, I thought that I may as well use this as a test run to see how I was going to do my makeup on the day and how the base of my costume looked. So for this challenge, I’m recreating the Snake Princess, Boa Hancock from One Piece!

Style Inspiration

Hey guys!

My style is pretty erratic but I did want to talk to you about the individuals that influence my style, both in makeup and in fashion. This post will mostly be fashion-based and I haven’t really spoken about fashion too much on this blog but I am willing to learn more so that I can talk about it. My style would more closely reflect those I’m influenced by if I’d hurry up and make another order on Taobao. I am looking to do one soon so stay tuned. I might feature the items I purchase on here. On to the looks!

Lucy is the daughter of Eisley’s Sherri DuPree-Bemis and Say Anything’s Max Bemis. I adore this family and everything that Lucy wears. From what I know, Lucy picks everything she wears. She is heavily inspired by Japanese Street Fashion, which we’ve seen on Sherri’s Instagram.

Lucy is basically a miniature Sherri and I think it is the best thing ever. I am totally obsessed with this child.

Melanie Martinez

MEL6-752x560

Melanie was a contestant on the Voice in 2012 and is now a successful musician. I am completely in love with her music and her style. She, too, is influenced by Japanese fashion. She tends to wear a lot of lolita clothing but in her own unique way, which is really cool.

I love her split dyed hair and her gap tooth. I’m convinced that she is the cutest lil thing on the planet.

Katie Amelia

Katie’s instagram account is one of my most favourite instagram accounts, as I mentioned in Monday’s post. She has such a gorgeous sense of style and she just looks as cute as a button. This style suits a whole load of people and with inspiration from someone like Katie, I doubt you’ll have too much trouble navigating this style.

This style is especially well suited to those with a similar body type to my own. High-waisted pants and fit and flare dresses are perfect for those of us with a smaller figure on top and a larger figure on the bottom. Katie just knows how to perfectly put together an outfit. As I said on Monday’s post, I wish that we could share a wardrobe.

I hope that you enjoyed having a little look at those who I am influenced by. I have been trying to break out with lolita and make it more my own style rather than strictly lolita rules because I think that was what stopped me wearing it. I definitely want to get more and more into 50s fashion because I think it is so classy. I hope that you’re all having a fantastic day and if you have any instagram recommendations for me, let me know in the comments!

Zombie Beauty Tips!

Hey ghouls!

Are you tired of not being invited to parties because you’re “a rotted, blood-soaked legion of the undead”? Sick of going on date after date, only to have none of them ever return your phone calls?
Well! Ogle School and I are going to share with you how to get from monstrous to fabulous!

PROBLEM: Dark Under Eye Circles

12179839_10153481127447530_1637897217_n 12180071_10153481127467530_1118454305_n

SOLUTION:

  • At the stroke of midnight, enter the abandoned, haunted mansion at the top of the hill (use GPS for directions).
  • Place a spoon in the freezer/portal to demonic dimension.
  • After two minutes of fighting off the ghost of a 17th-century sea captain, remove the spoon from the freezer and gently rub it under each eye.

12170158_10153481149737530_2082063554_n

  • Get sucked into the demonic dimension with fabulous, flawless under-eyes.

PROBLEM: Sagging, Rotting Skin

12179536_10153481127472530_1167220568_n

SOLUTION:

  • Prep zombie skin with Bodyography’s Tinted Moisturizer
  • Apply an even layer of BB cream
  • Apply liquid foundation, followed by powder foundation.
  • Apply yellow-toned brightening powder to set makeup and smooth texture.
  • Eat brains with tight, perfect skin. (Yum!)

PROBLEM: Bloodshot Eyes

12180147_10153481127462530_2063413639_n

There were no funny tricks for this one, that’s my real anxiety-ridden uni student bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep!

SOLUTION:

  • Commission a witch during the lunar solstice to cast an anti-bloodshot spell on you.
  • Sell your eternal soul to the devil in exchange for clear, bright eyes.
  • Use eyedrops.
  • Chant “Bloody Mary” three times in front of a mirror. When she appears, ask if she has any tips.

PROBLEM: Organs Spilling Out of Your Body

SOLUTION:

12180071_10153481127372530_1007594479_n

  • Spanx.

PROBLEM: Hair-loss

12167881_10153481127492530_1849090406_n

SOLUTION:

  • Rub 1/4 cup of coconut oil into your scalp.
  • Repeat as needed.
  • Make your own cute DIY wig with the hair of your victims (see Pinterest for fashion-forward styling tips).

804503_10153481127527530_472711509_n

Styled to perfection ❤

PROBLEM: Blood-Stained Teeth

 12170618_10153481127502530_1437151834_n

SOLUTION:

  • Avoid the harsh chemicals in whitening strips by opting, instead, for a baking soda-based toothpaste.
  • Switch out your regular floss for the teeth-whitening kind.
  • Just roll with it. Chunky jewelry and blood-stained teeth are this season’s must-have accessories.

And now for the big reveal! After all of these helpful tips, I’ve gone from monstrous to fabulous!

Saying Farewell to a Large Part of My Blogging Journey

Hey guys!

Today I am writing a rather sad post. I thought that it was something that you ought to know because it has been a large part of my blog for over a year now . For those who have come to my blog for these posts, I thought it would be good for you to know that you won’t be seeing these posts as frequently, if at all.

pink-divider-no-background-md

For just over a year, I’ve been a contact lens model for Adelaide Little Lens and you have been able to read review posts for different lenses, monthly. Even before being a lens model, I was a regular customer and I relied on the products for my cosplay, lolita and daily needs. Back when I was selected, they were already my favourite store to purchase lenses from because of their affordable prices and their location. It also felt really familiar to purchase from them because they were part of the cosplay scene here.

As of the end of last month, Adelaide Little Lens has now closed and it absolutely breaks my heart.

On a positive note, if you were interested in purchasing from them, you can still purchase the remaining in-stock lenses that they have and I believe that you can still use my discount ‘PastelSparkles’ but it will be until stock runs out.

So, you won’t be seeing a monthly lens review from me anymore. They will probably still be dotted here and there but I now have to do a bit of research into where to buy from. I was gifted three pairs from Adelaide Little Lens and if you’re interested in seeing those reviews, I am more than happy to review them for you guys because you can still purchase the lenses that were sold at Adelaide Little Lens, in other lens stores.

Here are the majority of the lens reviews that I did over the last year, you can click on the photos to go to the reviews.
