5 Tips for Making University Easier

Hey guys!

Seeing as many people will be heading to university today for the first time, I thought I’d give a few tips for how to make everything a little bit easier. As some of you know, I finished my Bachelor Degree last year, so I have three years of experience under my belt and ready to share with the world haha. I won’t tell you that these tips are going to make university easy but they certainly will make them easier than if you didn’t follow them. I hope that you find this post helpful!

Tag: Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

Today, I thought that I’d do a tag post because I haven’t done one in a while and I saw a great tag by TheLifeOfKristyn, so that’s what I’ll be sharing with you! When I read her post, I kept thinking ‘omg I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this!’, and I hope that you might read mine and think the same and not think that I’m a grot hahaha.

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I am pretty lazy with my skin care and one thing that I rarely do is put on moisturiser before I put my makeup on. I have combination skin so its not essential but in winter, my skin does get quite dry and I think it would benefit from some morning moisture. I only don’t do this step because I don’t want to wait 20 minutes for it to soak into my skin and then put my makeup on.

2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?
HA no. I feel so bad about this one too. I was just talking to friends about when the last time we cleaned our brushes was. I do clean my beauty sponge every day after I use it but my powder brushes are definitely neglected. I was on a schedule where I’d wash them every week but I’ve been so lazy lately. It is really important to clean your brushes so that you don’t spread bacteria all over your face. I’ll wash them tonight, I promise!

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
It totally depends on the colour. If I have a nudey colour on my nails, maybe a week? But if it’s a bold colour, I’ll take the polish off that night. I change my nail colour a lot because I get sick of having the same thing for too long. This is probably one of the only things that I’m on top of!

4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
I hate running out of something I need, like foundation or concealer. If I know I’m coming to the end of it, I’ll buy it before it is finished. But if it is something like eyeshadow primer, I’ll just go without until I have a good excuse to go shopping to purchase it.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Either biting my nails or popping my zits/scratching my face. I know that’s soooooo bad but I have been in struggle town about this since I got my first pimple. I know how bad it is for the skin but sometimes I can’t help it and when I am not really paying attention, I catch myself scratching my face. The nail biting has been prevented due to wearing nail polish but on the days that I’m letting my nails breathe, they are in some danger haha. So bad.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Making my bed and putting away clothes. Since moving back home I’ve been trying to move everything into place and I often get overwhelmed because I have so much stuff to put away. I’m sure that I could fit it all in but I just make excuses and forget or can’t find the motivation to finish. I’ll probably start making more videos when my room is done 🙂

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
I set time for myself to get ready every morning so that I’m not in a rush. For uni I have 3o mins to do my hair and makeup but I make sure I’m up an hour before I have to leave. When going out to dinner, if I’m already wearing makeup, I’ll just touch up my makeup from the day. If I’m starting fresh, I’ll give myself an hour but I’ll be ready quicker than that for sure. If it is a really special occasion, I’ll really take my time doing everything. If I have 3 hours, you bet I’ll put that time to good use hahah.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I’ve never banned myself from buying makeup or skin care. I never go too crazy with anything because I don’t need anything and especially now, I don’t have a strong desire to buy makeup. I still love it just as much but nothing new is grabbing me and anything that I can buy overseas has been extra expensive because the Australian dollar hasn’t been as strong in the last 6 months.

9. How organised is your make-up and nail polish collections?
Pretty good! I really love organising things. I have my lipsticks all set out in display boxes and my nail polish beside them on my desk. Then the rest of my makeup is in draws! Its very easy for me to manage. I think it was the first thing that I sorted out when I moved back in 🙂

So that’s how much I procrastinate on beauty things! I hope that you enjoyed reading my post!
