Hi guys, gals, and non-binary pals!
I think it’s become pretty well known that I enjoy a bit of Korean pop culture and I’ve been slowly injecting it into most things that I do haha. Due to my addiction to purchasing things that I don’t need, I’ve accumulated a few beauty related things that I’ve purchased purely because of KPOP and I wanted to share them with you. I know that there will be more KPOP influenced purchases in the future so I’ve preemptively titled this as ‘part 1’ to cover myself when I eventually need to do a part 2. I hope that you enjoy!
1. MAC x Lee Hi
I love MAC a lot and when I heard that they were releasing a lipstick with the singer Lee Hi, I was incredibly excited! The outer packaging of this product has her official logo on it, as well as a bit of holographic sparkle in the silhouette. I do wish that the actual bullet was limited edition packaging as well but that’s alright. I did dedicate a whole post to this so if you want to read more about it, you can do so here!
2. Aveeno Stress Relief Lotion
This seems like such an odd product because unlike the rest of the products that I’m discussing today, this one doesn’t obviously have any affiliation with any KPOP group, at all. So you may be wondering, Sarah, why on earth did you purchase this and what on earth makes this KPOP related? Well, dear reader, ya boy V (Taehyung) from BTS claimed that it was his signature scent. There was a post floating around a few months ago that shared each member of BTS’ preferred scent to wear and V, being V, chose something very left field. I was a little bit shocked because he’s a lil Gucci boy so seeing something very affordable and readily available was a nice surprise. I love lavender, it’s very calming, so I usually put it on before I go to bed. It’s an added extra cute thing to think that V also uses it.
3. Moonshot x Big Bang 10th Anniversary Lip Balm and Hand Cream
In both of my Sephora orders, I’ve used the Moonshot x Big Bang items as order fillers to qualify for free shipping haha. Big Bang was the first KPOP group that I ever fell in love with and they’re very special to me so whenever they collaborate with a brand, I’m usually right there, ready to buy it. It was a bit of a no-brainer to purchase these because they celebrate their 10th anniversary. I think they’re extra cool because the scent used in the items is meant to be GDragon’s signature scent, which I find to be quite gender neutral. I like wearing the items a lot and I’m glad I picked them up!
