Today is the 23rd anniversary of the Nightmare Before Christmas, a movie that I love very dearly, and I really wanted to celebrate by including it in my 100 Days of Makeup challenge and this Halloween Week! I debated which character I wanted to recreate but it became very clear very quickly that my best and only real option was Sally. I love Sally, I think she’s gorgeous and a very sweet and cunning character. I hope that you enjoy the look!
I believe that Sally will be a very popular costume for Halloween this year, like she has been for the last 20 years. So for the first time ever, I wanted to have a go at the character with whatever skills I have. I watched a few YouTube tutorials and pulled inspiration from them and from the character herself.
I used the Manic Panic white foundation as a base and set it with the RCMA No Color Powder. I then mixed Chill and Pow! from the Sleek Ultra Mattes V1 Palette to create her pale blue skin. I added definition using Chill on its own. For the eyes, I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as the base and lined my lower lid and water line to create a larger eye effect. I set it with Pow! and outlined the white liner with Chill. I used Chill, Pow! and Bolt for the other eye makeup. I lined my eyes using Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner, applied Covergirl Lashblast Fusion to my lashes and applied falsies from eBay. I used Bolt and Chill in my brows.
For the stitches, I created lines with Bolt and faded them a bit with Chill. I then created stitches with my NYX White Liquid Liner and shaded the corners with Inglot 321 to look as if the stitches were really being sewn into my skin. I then highlighted my face with Inglot 28. Finally, I applied Jeffree Star Unicorn Blood to my lips.
I hope that you have a spooky day!
