As I mentioned last week, I met the brand Runway Room at the Adelaide Hair and Makeup Show and I fell in love with them pretty quickly. So today I thought that it would be perfect for me to share with you lipsticks that I now consider to be some of my most favourite, high-end, low-end or otherwise.
Runway Room is an Australian made company that is cruelty-free. That’s super important and super exciting!
During the Trade Show, there was a deal to buy three of the lipsticks for $45 dollars, which just short of the price of three Maybelline lipsticks here in Australia, which is an incredible deal considering that they actually retail for $28.95 each. This made it very easy for people to try out the brand for a fantastic price. The three shades that I picked up were; Librarian, The Duchess, and The Governor.
All of the lipsticks have pretty interesting names, they’re all sort of based on ‘titles’, which is cool because you could probably identify with a few of the names if that’s how you make your choices, I know that names are certainly a large part of why I might chose to purchase something.
Librarian is a cool brown-toned nude that is really flattering on pale skins and I’m sure that it would look really nice as a pale nude on deeper skins. I don’t have too many colours like this because I usually think that they won’t suit me. Even when I swatched it at the stand, I was umming and ahhing about it but I just went for it because I really wanted to try out the brand and I’m really glad that I picked the shade up 🙂
The Duchess is pretty much my most favourite lip colour ever. It is a very cool toned mauve and it looks just like my natural lip colour, with a touch more class. I love the way that it finishes off a look and I know that this will be my go-to lip colour for a looooong time. It reminds me a lot of the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in Vintage Pink. I have the original packaging, I’m not sure if they changed the shade in the new line but it was my favourite colour to wear because it looked so flattering on my skin but it was a little too creamy some times. This will definitely be a really nice alternative. The name also makes me think of Downton Abbey and I’m so okay with this.
And finally, The Governor is a bright mid-toned pink. It reminds me a lot of Maybelline’s Vivid Rose lipstick. It is really beautiful and so easy to wear.
They all have really amazing staying power. I was wearing The Governor when I was eating potato chips and after I had finished my lunch, I looked at my lips to see if I needed to re-apply my lipstick and it looked as good as new! The same can be said for the other two, they’ve both lasted through meals really well. I was so impressed!
Here are some arm swatches in natural light and with flash.
I only had the lipsticks on my arm for around 2 minutes and the lipsticks already left a stain! If this is something that you hate about lipsticks, then you won’t like these, but I definitely am a fan of their staying power.
They all have a creamy finish but they definitely aren’t too creamy and as you can see in the swatches, they’re all highly pigmented. They feel so comfortable on my lips and I honestly can’t say enough about them. I am head over heels for this product!
If you guys are interested in picking any of their lipsticks, you can check out their website http://www.runwayroom.com and you can use the discount ‘PROMUASA’ which gets you 40% off. I got that discount from purchasing at the trade show, it isn’t an affiliate code or anything like that. Just spreading the love so that you can try out these lipsticks!
I hope that you are all having a fantastic day!
