Liptember Week 3!

Hey guys!

Another week has passed and another set of lip colours has been worn. I cannot tell you how desperate I am to wear nude shades again hahaha. There have been so many pretty nudes that I’ve been wanting to wear but this is a challenge that I set myself and so I will stick to it! So once again, I’m going to show you my week of lip colours for Liptember and I’m also going to talk about what I’ve been able to talk about during this week. As per usual, you can learn more about Liptember here and you can donate here!

This week I got to talk a little bit about every day things that are challenging for those with mental illness. Because I suffer from social anxiety, I am thankful for a lot of things and one thing that I am usually thankful for is self-service check outs. A friend of mine was saying that self-service check outs were losing jobs for people and they were a negative thing that has been introduced into our shopping experience, and there is nothing wrong with that opinion and if I didn’t deal with social anxiety, I might have the same view of that machine. I love self-service check outs because I am usually only holding a few items, I don’t require a bag and I don’t need to talk to anyone unless something goes wrong with the machine. I don’t have to worry about being awkward or if I’m having a really bad day and I just need to focus on myself, I don’t need to pretend to be chirpy to someone haha. They are also great for those who have a language barrier because when learning a language reading tends to be a stronger skill than speaking. But that’s a story for another time haha. Either way, I got to talk a little bit about mental health and spread a bit of knowledge to my peers.

  1. We actually have a bill payment kiosk at my telecommunications store, and when they came out I thought they were a terrible idea. Now that we have had them for a few years I don’t mind it so much, and they have decided corporately to take them back out of all our locations. I think that it helps to have some human interaction when we are all paying bills, it gives the rep an opportunity to rightsize the customers package. However, I totally feel you on self check outs. I hate waiting in line for someone to bag my stuff for me! I liked your facebook page tooo!
