Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Hey guys!

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, Saturday was Talk Like A Pirate Day and I was dressing up so I thought that I’d share how my day went 🙂

The main reason that I wanted to dress up yesterday was because Krispy Kreme had said that they would give away a free dozen of their glazed doughnuts for everyone dressed up like a pirate and would give one doughnut for those who just spoke in a pirate voice. I decided that I wanted to do a sort of closet cosplay and dress up as Nami from One Piece because I already had her wig and I figured that her costume wouldn’t be too difficult to recreate. It turned out that the best outfit for me to chose was the first outfit that you really see Nami in after she gets changed on the boat party. This was also the most pirate-like of all of her outfits.

I only had to purchase a shirt, striped socks, and red and black fabric. I was very excited to cosplay Nami because I like her so far, I haven’t watched all of One Piece yet but I’m sure that I’ll continue to like her later in the show. I also considered dressing up as Vivi for Talk Like A Pirate Day because she’s my favourite One Piece character 🙂

So, here is what I looked like for Talk Like A Pirate Day!

I feel like I can never pose properly when I cosplay haha. I really wanted to make Nami’s staff to go with the outfit but it was a little bit too much effort for a cosplay that was getting me a free dozen doughnuts.

There was basically no line for the doughnuts and I was so excited. I was trying to put on an eye patch as I walked into the store but it was hurting my eye and the girl who was behind the counter started laughing with me and gave me my magical box of free doughnuts. I had to take a selfie when I’d sat down.

Here I am eating the first doughnut from my dozen, with my cousin, Tim, and in the second photo I’m posing with my friend Matt who also dressed up. He got two dozen because he went back later in the day and there was a different person working the till!

I had a great day, there was also a Nova 91.9 and Priceline Stall in the mall and I got some free products. I really enjoyed spending time with my nakama today.

    • Sure! Make sure whatever you post about is something that you’re passionate about and could continue to talk about.
and set yourself some sort of schedule and stick to it, whether you post once, twice, or three times a week. Most importantly, have fun 🙂
